Hello Everyone,
This week we kicked off our Continuing Education Seminar sessions covering Form’s 1040. This morning, Gale and I spoke about the seminars, IRS tax prep rules and regs and have reached several recommendations:
•Build Your Foundation –
With the new IRS regs and tax prep registration/certification, the IRS wants to know
you understand income taxes and tax forms before you begin an income tax return.
We offer seminars that cover a wide variety of tax topics to help you with tax
foundation so you may have the confidence to successfully attain any IRS regulation goals.
•Study to improve your knowledge
“Interview” style tax software (ProFiler), although easy to use, does not provide all you may
need to know. We are introducing Drake, a menu driven software, and encouraging you to
get IRS Pub 17. Many CPA and EA completed tax returns are accomplished by using Drake
software. We can help with this through the Drake Online Study course. This online study
course and Drake software is used nationwide as a useful teaching and learning tool.
•Practice to develop your knowledge
Before this company opened its doors to the public for Tax Season 1993, we were practicing problems. Practice has
always been an important and helpful part of pre-tax season. With practice we gain a better understanding of income
tax rules, changes and regulations, learn the ins and outs of software, and become more familiar and comfortable with
tax software programs. There are three types of software program approaches: Interview, Forms, and Fill-in-the-blank.
With your continued willingness to develop your foundation and knowledge you will have the proficiency, ability, and confidence to complete 80% of our tax return business quickly and easily in Drake. The rest will develop as you grow and gain software and tax knowledge. This will come naturally within the tax return business.
We have heard you and will offer Drake skill-building scenarios July 27 at 6 pm. We strongly recommend you take advantage of the Drake Online Study program before the seminar. Contact Beverly at 601-528-1180 to enroll in this easy-to-use and convenient way of learning.
If you wish to take advantage of the Drake software practice help and assistance currently available one-on-one, contact either Barbara in Gulfport or myself in Hattiesburg to schedule practice time for tax problems.
As always, we will assist you in your endeavors to improve your tax knowledge and skills. Drake with its menu driven software can better assist in tax knowledge growth. There are other software's of course, but we do like Drake better than Profiler's "Forms" module in this area.
Regards
Denise
